Day 63

I am doing exercises from the book Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson and this was part of one of them. It was trying to make the lights turn into octagons. It was quite awesome. I also would like to add that with the help fo this amazing book I am officially on full Manual operation WOOHOOOOOO! So in the spirit of St.Patrick's Day/Month lol, here's to you! Cheers!

  1. Looks like a success. slow shutter speed, wide open lens makes the depth of field smaller, so you focus on one object and the background is fuzzy, the octagon is from the shape of the cameras iris, or aperture which is made up of interlaced leaves of metal, you can simulate this by stacking playing cards up in a circle. often, when you have sun in the background, you can create an octagonal flare in the image.
I want to get a digital camera with more manual controls, too many times the camera just doesn't know what I want it to do!!
    Guess who?
